Forest Suites Resort at the Heavenly Village

Location is everything for this resort. Cross the street and you are in the Heavenly Village and downtown. Lots of restaurants, cafes for dining and a variety of shoppes to stroll through. The gondola is right there as well if you are visiting during the Winter season. Several areas close by for walking and biking plus the Lake activities and sand beaches to stroll. This resort was safe and secure and easy to walk about for morning breakfast, lounging by the pool or enjoying the fire pit. Lastly, the beds were very comfortable and the linens and towels were exceptionally clean.

We are regulars and come up from Sacramento at least once a year. We always stay at Forrest Inn and Suites and stay in the 2 bedroom suites. Having the fully equipped kitchen and 2 bathrooms is essential for us. The location is excellent and it allows easy walking distance to the Heavenly Village shopping and entertaining district. The game room is a plus for my adult daughter.

Great location, updated suite with nice kitchen and basic nonstick cookware (bring your own if you’re picky), utensils, and dishes. Sofa bed was pretty comfortable, bedroom bed was fine. Parking is very close to rooms. Breakfast is fine, and the hotel hosts cute events in the evening. Front desk is kind and helpful.

- Spacious accommodation - we booked two 2-bedroom suites and that gave our group of 12 enough room to spread out and yet have enough common space to interact. - Great location. This is in the thick of the main shopping drag of Lake Tahoe and we had easy accessibility to shopping and food close by. - The breakfast was decent. Nothing amazing but better than the standard American hotel breakfast.

Proximity to both the Heavenly gondola and the free Heavenly shuttle service to the California and Stagecoach bases is a big plus. Both are within 10 minutes walk at a moderate pace. (However, we waited 60-90 minutes in the Heavenly shuttle line during the blizzard conditions that prevailed during our stay. Go to the shuttle station early if the Gondola is not scheduled to open! ) The breakfast selections were quite good and plentiful. The breakfast service team was excellent. They work so hard, keep all items replenished, and are super friendly even during the morning rush hour. Lodge did a great job of extending breakfast seating options beyond the breakfast room into the bar and lounge. We had one repair needed. Maintenance showed up within 5 minutes of my evening call to the front desk, did a quick fix to get us through the night problem-free and a full fix the next day. The maintenance team were efficient, effective, great with communication, and very friendly and service minded. The same is true of the housekeeping team. The large entry way in our 2-bedroom suite was set up very well for a ski trip. There was plenty of room to hang four adults' damp gear in an open area such that everything dried overnight. We greatly appreciated that the hot tubs remained open during the three-day long blizzard conditions we experienced - and the loaner shovels. Hopefully a suite will be available during our next ski trip to South Lake!
